Minutes of KPCT progress Assoc. 10th November 2011

Minutes from Previous meeting – Moved by Len Murray 2nd by Jill
Correspondence in – Association agreed we can finish the Mail Redirection. Moved by Jill Greenwood 2nd by Ken Goodworth.

Treasurer Report – There is currently $ 1667.50 and $ 2614.57 in the reserve account. Jon Fearon is to be reimbursed
for the printing of the last newsletter out of this money. This was moved by the Treasurer Peter Shelden and 2nd by Grahame Orchard
General Business
Boatshed Marina – Zaga Palalic & other members of the association.
• There have been 16 submissions received mainly from individuals.
• These submissions will be assessed and sent to the developer for them to respond.
• Gosford council are still not involved at this stage of the planning.
• The developer will do what it takes by law to go ahead with the marina.
• Council and other government bodies are concerned and will have their say.
• Parking will be allocated at 0.5 car park per marina booth.
• There will be 50 berths plus tie up area.
• There will be no fuel station as the oyster farms are close
• There will be no sewerage pump out area
• The developer feels that the size of the marina is not too big for the area
• The developer said that the depth of the water is 6m, yet the association thinks that is maybe more like 4.5m
• Fred said that there are a lot of people that are against the marina especially the residents of south Koolewong.

Train Noise – Fred.
• There were 2 noisy trains today, one at 4:45am & 4:55am.
• That the train noise is better when it rains.
• The 3 train related government organisations are now going to join together to become CFNRDD, and they will be now taking all train complaints.
• Our association will now join other progress associations from Cowan, Beecroft & Hornsby to work together to voice our complaints and concerns.
• To help with the noise the trains need to be maintained.

Disabled parking at Woy Woy and West Gosford shopping centers – Jon Fearon (on Behalf of Joan Johnstone)
• We have heard back from Woy Woy shopping centres and they have said that if they were to move the disabled parking spots that they would have to locate them further away.

Bambara Rd & Hieroglyphics.
• Chris Holstein is still working on the protection and making Bambara Rd into a National Park and wildlife park.

Community Events
• There has seemed to be no school fair this year from Point Clare public school.
Local heritage landmarks
• Jon Fearon has set up a meeting with Deb O’Neil to discuss the project and our needs for funding

Progress Association Name change to community
• We have had 3 responses all positive to change the name.
• The association does not want to have a long meeting about the matter, but are open to discussions.
• There was a move to bring up the subject at the Next meeting in December, so we are ready for the AGM.
• The suggestion is that we change only the Progress Association to Community.
• This was moved by Lesley Brown & 2nd by Sonny Hopkins.
• The association also voted and the Majority ruled.

Working bee
• The working bee is looking for adults for the next working bee as the school environment club will be joining them on the 9th of December. Volunteers are needed.

Association newsletter joint with the Somersby Photographic Gallery pamphlet.
• Jon Fearon felt that it was a good partnership and it took no longer to deliver the pamphlet, and we will be looking for other local businesses to work with to get a donation to deliver their pamphlets.

Point Clare Community hall committee
• Association members are invited to join the Point Clare Community Hall Committee for the membership of $7.00 per annum

Children on Bikes in local area
Association members are concerned with the dangerous behaviour of the local children in the area. It is becoming dangerous, for people and the children.
• Action – Helen Orchard is going to write to the local council about it.

Guest Speaker – Kate Moore from Girl Guides.
• The girl guides was started over 100 years ago
• Kate has been with the girl guides since she was 10 years old
• The girl guides has members from every walk of life, even children with special needs. And all girls are taught to be respectful and tolerant of each other.
• It only costs the girls $3.00 per night which pays for activities. Membership is $ 100.00
• The girl guides do joint activities with the scouts
• They encourage all girls to have a go and do all sorts of activities
• The girl guides work with charities and organisations in the areas of women’s aid and environmental organisations and even have packed birthing kits.
• They also work to try and eliminate poverty
• The girl guides meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Point Clare.
