I refer to your letter dated 10th March 2011 and subsequent correspondence regarding various road safety issues along Brisbane Water Drive and advise that the RTA has now reviewed the following junctions:

• Brisbane Water Drive @ Girralong Ave
• Brisbane Water Drive @ Koolinda Ave / Jirrah Ave
• Brisbane Water Drive @ Lorraine Ave
• Brisbane Water Drive @ Couche Cres

This review has identified various minor junction improvements that may enhance road safety at the above junctions and these recommendations will be tabled at the next Gosford City Council Traffic Committee. The RTA will also review a long term strategy to enhance road safety along Brisbane Water Drive for consideration in a future works program.

Meanwhile,the RTA has commenced investigations into the feasibility of widening the shoulder width along Brisbane Water Drive east of Fagan Park to enhance road safety for cyclists. Should the widening be viable, it will be listed for consideration in a future works program,

Concerns raised by the Progress Association regarding footpaths along Brisbane Water Drive have been referred to Gosford City Council who is responsible for footpaths in this area.
